Environmental Responsibility
Being a good corporate citizen requires more than charitable donations. At Humana, we’re committed to making the world a better, healthier place to live. That’s why we participate in programs aimed at improving the environment. |
Business Roundtable's Climate RESOLVE
The Business Roundtable's Climate RESOLVE initiative promotes voluntary actions to control greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improve the GHG intensity of the U.S. economy. RESOLVE stands for Responsible Environmental Steps, Opportunities to Lead by Voluntary Efforts. This effort seeks to have every company in every sector of the economy control GHG emissions. Humana is one of the 70 percent of Roundtable companies signed up for Climate RESOLVE.

Kentucky Excellence in Environmental Leadership (KY EXCEL)
As a Kentucky-based company, Humana is proud to be part of the KY EXCEL program, which we joined in November 2006. The program is not a regulatory approach. Instead, the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection works with Kentuckians to recognize and reward voluntary efforts. The goal is to support a process that allows participants to increase their environmental commitment and reduce their environmental footprint.
The mission of KY EXCEL is to promote voluntary environmental projects. Each member conducts one or more projects a year, depending on membership level.
