Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Health care FSAs, which are available only with Humana's consumer-driven plans, help members reduce health care costs and make budgeting easier.

Members contribute pretax money to the account and then draw on the funds during the plan year for qualified expenses, such as doctors' bills, prescriptions, dental care and vision care.

FSA funds cannot be carried over from year to year and are not portable from job to job.

FSA Advantages

Tax savings

Members don't pay taxes on FSA contributions.

Not tied to a certain kind of plan

The FSA can cover out-of-pocket costs associated with any kind of health plan — not just one with a high deductible.

Easy to use

Members can spend health care FSA funds easily with the HumanaAccessSM Visa® Debit Card. Find out more about the HumanaAccess Card.
